"Let us found a society that shall be kind alike to all and think more of a girl's inner self and character than of her personal appearance."
- Sarah Ida Shaw, Founder of Delta Delta Delta

Today was my last day of my last recruitment and it hit me. I have been a collegiate member of Delta Delta Delta for four years. I have been blessed with an amazing sisterhood that is not just four years -it is for life.
(I am going to make this post as short and sweet as possible, however just know I've tried to write it almost six times and ended up crying every time.)

I want to give a little insight. Delta Delta Delta is not just cute letters, frat parties, social, formals, fun chants, and littles. Delta Delta Delta has made me grow as a woman and a person. My sisters have held me accountable for my actions good or bad, pushed me to do well academically, and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. My sisters have made me a better person than I was four years ago and I want to thank you all for that.

I want to give a little advice. For the new members and current collegiate members of Delta Delta Delta, enjoy it. Enjoy the meetings, events, and every little chance you get with your sisters. Reach out to every sister you can, whether they need it or not. Dance your booty off with your sisters till your feet hurt. Stay up all night in the library with your sisters and don't actually do any homework. These four years are over before you know it. I challenge you: at every chapter meeting, slowly look around the entire room and take a minute to realize what that room full of girls means to you.

I want to thank Delta Delta Delta for the good times. Every memory I have from my four years at Towson University include my sisters. It is killing me to say goodbye shortly and become an alumni. However, I am excited for the new chapter of my Delta Delta Delta journey.

Your Sister

  1. Hi Emily! I added you to Northeast Bloggers last night and wanted to take a second to comment on your blog! Great post! I was in Alpha Chi Omega when I was in college :) It was a fun time and good memories- the four years are deff over before you know it and then its "real life" so soak in this last semester!
