Baby Boy's Nursery

Monday, November 13, 2017

I am so excited to share David's nursery with you all today! Micah and I have poured our hearts into this nursery and we can't wait to see our son grow up in this room.

Our crib was the first thing purchased for the nursery. My mom and I found it at the Pottery Barn Outlet and I knew it would work perfectly boy or girl. The name circle was ordered as soon as we knew our baby was a boy. I love walking up our stairs and seeing his name on the wall, it makes my mama heart very happy!

Directly across from the crib is the dresser/changing table, also a Pottery Barn Outlet find. This gallery wall was the most difficult part of the room, I blame pregnancy brain. I love how it came together. I bought the frames from Michael's and stained them using the same stain on his name sign, Special Walnut by Minwax.

In the frames, we have pictures of my brother David, a print I found before we announced we were pregnant at a craft show, Micah's brother David, and a blank frame waiting for a newborn picture. The print reads "the stars danced on the day you were born." The 'D' is another DIY that I painted. The clock is from Home Goods and the picture hanger was on clearance at Kohl's.

One of my favorite parts of the nursery is the rocking chair. The chair is a pass down from Micah's mom that we had refinished with Special Walnut. We also put a little bed in the room for David's puppy brother and sister. The room is fairly small so we tried to maximize storage, for example, we are using the ottoman to store sleep sacks and wearable blankets.

This bookshelf wall is Micah's favorite part of David's nursery. The shelves are Ikea ledges and they work perfectly for books. We were blessed at our baby shower with books from family and friends. The bins below the shelves are from Home Goods ands we are using to store toys. I am sure they will fill up the older he gets!

The closet in David's nursery was small so keeping it organized was very important to me. We took down the door and replaced it with a curtain so the closet was easier to access. We used bins with chalkboard labels to store clothing he will grow into. The drawer system is from the container store and is being used to store blankets, extra sheets, burp cloths, and other odds and ends. I love that this drawer system can grow with him to store just about anything. We only hung clothing that was too thick to fold, jackets, or "fancier" outfits.
